Lounge on the Farm is an awarding winning festival in the rolling Kent countryside now entering its 8th year on the idyllic working farm that is its home.
Its history, like so many romantic tales, begins with a number scribbled on the back of a fag packet. A meeting between a farmer, a DJ and a foodie created the festival that has been a springboard for so much in Kent and is now in its 8th year. People from across the county and beyond come to Lounge for its laid back atmosphere – its liking popping to your favourite local restaurant for a bite to eat and finding a legendary artist standing on a table belting out hits. Balance is key to all things and at Lounge you can dance under the stars to the beats of a superstar DJ or lay down in the apple orchards for a massage or facial.
There’s no need to have hat hair at Lounge – The Secret Hair Society can take care of that, you’ll never get bored as you wander from stage to cinema to kitchen theatre to bar, you’ll never go hungry because there’s always food on every corner – food that makes you want to eat even though you’ve just had lunch. This isn’t fodder to keep you going, its food to warm your heart. Our bars are stocked with the best local ale and lager, our kitchen theatre provides opportunities to learn, to sample and for the kids to get messy. We’ve been playing host to families of all ages for 8 years now – some of the little loungers have been coming since they were babies and the teenagers, well they have grown up on lounge. Parents come because the site is safe, the staff are always on the lookout and although Mr Tumbles has to be left at home there is so much to do for the kids that they never get bored whilst mums and dads can relax with a cup of the tea in the NCT area.
The essence of Lounge is in the local arts, culture, agriculture and economy. We believe that a festival can have a positive impact on the local area as long it was run for locals, by locals that employed locals. Our line up is eclectic, our passion is in creativity and our site is unique. With a Victorian Funfair and cabaret circus at Lounge this year there’s only one thing left to say............. roll up roll up roll up... its time to lounge.......
