Food and Drink

Simply the best festival for food lovers

Lounge on the Farm always takes its food very seriously. Everything on the site is hand-picked (or should I say tasted) by The Farmers themselves and you certainly wont find the usual festival tosh. The best produce from all over Kent will be on offer, prepared by some of our most talented chefs, bakers, butchers and cooks.

Our food courts in 2011 were as creative as the music and art on the site, using local ingredients to create food from all over the world. Old school favourites included Al’s Hog Roast with his hand reared and slaughtered pigs, Ana our Portuguese Mama with her delicious custard tarts and sweet pastries, Enzo’s Italian Bakery, Roots n Shoots (no festival goer should attempt a full lounge weekend without a revitalising stop at this kitchen) and the festivals two very own Farmhouse restaurants – the Ale and Pie House and The Farmhouse Restaurant was a roaring success all weekend, and even hosted the Rockaoke on Sunday evening with Shaun Williamson (Barry from Eastenders) belting the hits out. Mustang Sally!

Higgidy Pies

It takes time to perfect such special skills. And it takes lots of mixing and chopping and baking and rolling and inventing and shopping and trying and failing to become really, really good. But Camilla became that good. In fact, she became so good that one-day she helped her friends open a café. A Very-Nice-One. People loved their café so much (and the food she invented for it) that they opened lots more. After that so many people loved eating Camilla's café food that a Great-Big-Coffee-Company came along and ate up all their little cafes. But they knew Camilla's irresistible recipes were the Secret-Of-Success so they made her Chief-Of-Food for their cafes all over the land!

Camilla's food became quite famous. And even all her old school teachers loved it. She would scour the country for new ideas for all those cafes. But as Camilla searched and searched she soon realised that nobody could make a pie quite like her own. “Hmmmmmm”, she thought. Why is no-one making Really-Great-Pies? It was then that she had a Great Idea! The rest as they say is higgidy...

The Mainstage Bar

Directly opposite the Main Stage, the Main Bar was packed all weekend with thirsty farmers desperate for A REAL poured pint of Aspall's or Oranjeboom. Nothing like the real thing...

Locally made Ice Cream

The weather was very kind to us this year, allowing for the roaming Ice Cream sellers to make a killing on their delicious home-made Ice Cream, made in Kent!

Tea Tents and Healing

A very popular (and cash-friendly) asset of Lounge on the Farm, the Tea tents offered a cosy haven in which farmers could kick off the wellies and enjoy some simple tea and toast, or alternatively grab a massage. Lounging in true fashion!

Easy Nuh, MUU and other international treats

Striving to represent the local area puts Lounge on the map, but the Meadows Area also welcomed a host of exotic traders to peddle their wares on site.

Easy Nuh Caribbean Cuisine and MUU Sushi, with many Loungers and artists alike making a point of sampling as much of the food on offer as possible. We suggest you do the same next year!

Traditional tipples

Lounge on the Farm takes it booze seriously, and with local brewers Shepherd Neame as sponsors we are treated to some of the best locally brewed beers and ales about. You haven't lived until you've watched a few bands whilst sipping on an Oranjeboom, Aspall's or Spitfire.
