This year we're asking everyone coming to the farm to have a little think about what they can do to be a little greener over the weekend. We do. And if you could too maybe we can make that extra bit of a difference... Travel to and fro the farm is the big way we can save some carbon this weekend.. And to help out we've come out with a few ideas to help travel a bit greener... Oh, and don't leave the lights and heating on at home - that's poor form... Unless of course you've left Nan there!
Train services to Canterbury are pretty nifty. Canterbury East is the closest station to the farm, with services from London Victoria. London Charing Cross and Brighton are served by Canterbury West. To make life a little easier we will be running shuttlebuses to and from the train stations and the farm all weekend.

Question: How difficult is it to reduce emissions? Answer: Not hard at all!
It's as simple as leaving your car at home. Hang up those car keys and jump on board with Festival Coaches to this years Lounge on the Farm, really it is as simple as that. Believe us by doing this you will vastly reduce your carbon footprint. If you don't believe us, take a look at the example below.
| Mode of transport | London to Edinburgh | London to Bristol |
| Plane | 96.4 | N/A |
| Car* | 71.0 | 21.3 |
| Rail | 11.9** | 10.6*** |
| Coach | 9.2 | 3.3 |
|
Assumes 1.56 people per car. ** Modern high speed electric train. *** Modern diesel train.

Just think. By using the coach instead of the car to get to Lounge would be around half the emissions of the figures quoted for the London to Bristol journey. That's a considerable saving.
You've been making excuses for ages, now is time to act, today, easy as that. To re-coin an old phrase 'it's one small step for you, but one massive step for your planet' - positive action is part of the solution, so don't think to yourself it's not worth it, it is worth it. Look after Earth today so it can look after you and yours for all our tomorrows. We hope to see you on board.
This year we will be running bus services from Brighton, London,Shepway and Medway with Festival Coaches.. Visit their website to check routes, register your interest and sign up now
The bus network around Canterbury is good stuff, and there is always National Express if you're travelling from afar. The farm shuttle-bus will stop at Canterbury Bus Station.
We encourage a bit of cycling, but not under the influence remember! If you are in the saddle there will be safe places to lock up your bikes on the site. And if you're interested in going all Tour de Farm on us bikes can also be hired from Downland Cycles in Canterbury City Centre www.downlandcycles.co.uk.
If you are going to drive have a look at our car share scheme operated by Liftshare. It'll save money on petrol and parking and leave you more money for that all important festival hat. We ask that you think twice about bringing your car to the festival and consider alternative transport. This both eases congestion on the site and helps reduce the impact of the festival on the environment.
