THE VILLAGE GREEN

Here at Lounge on the Farm we take food miles very seriously so we only accept food traders from Kent and East Sussex and they all have to comply to a very rigid set of sourcing guidelines. The heartbeat of the festival is The Village Green where people come to meet, eat, drink and be merry enjoying the hospitality provided by an array of concessions from the surrounding community. From the hand reared pigs to a fine dining experience, with all of the fruit and veg that is grown within a 20 mile radius of the festival site, our buy local, eat seasonal policy means that the food on offer will outshine every other festival around.

THE GOODS SHED

This is the UKs only full time farmers market that also runs an award winning restaurant, sourcing the best ingredients brought in daily from the farms. Every year the owner, Susanna Atkins rolls up to the farm in a gypsy caravan packed to the roof with chefs, children and pots and pans and serves up a fine dining experience, in a field, at festival prices. This is an absolute must of an experience and not to be missed. Book your table early to avoid disappointment! www.thegoodsshed.net

HAJI BAJI

Sharon Bates began Haji Baji as a labour of love to fulfill a dream of her parents to bring her familys homestyle Indian cooking to the public. It reflects true Indian street food, but created with locally produced raw ingredients. Named for her grandfather, Haji Sir Ismail Sait, an Indian philanthropist, this kitchen is a true family affair and Sharon is also sister in law to Susanna from the Goods Shed! www.hajibaji.co.uk

AL'S HOG ROAST

This stall is a real Lounge on the Farm success story. Al is a young farmer from Shottenden who, in 2006, decided to get involved with us and start a new business. Farmers are increasingly diversifying as DEFRA and other authorities increase our dependency on imports and devalue food as the primary goal behind farming in the UK. Als Hog Roast has given him an opportunity to hand rear his own pigs, slaughter them himself and cook and serve them straight to the public. Thats what field to fork eating is all about and the results are obvious to everyone, whether its you out there eating the exceptional hog roll or his new family earning the benefits.

GODMERSHAM GAME

Phil wears a deer stalker and everything. Expect pigeon pitta pockets and venison burgers served by the man himself.

TONY'S GRILL

This local deli owner had queues a mile long last year with his Chandler and Dunn beef burgers and hot dogs. Famous in Canterbury for the citys best doorstep sandwiches for an old boy he's fitted right into festival fever! Harriets Deli, 36 St Peters Street, Canterbury, Kent CT1 2BG. Tel 01227 462 130

ROOTS AND SHOOTS

This solar powered vegetarian cafe sold out last year they were such a hit. Perfect stews and koftas and vegan doughnuts. They are based in East Sussex and source all their goods either locally or organically if imported.

LOUNGE ON THE FARM'S BEST OF KENT

This year our fantastic chefs will be back with four independent hawker stalls, each serving one truly Kentish dish from just one seasonal ingredient. Think asparagus, think strawberries. Think of the summer!

THE TEA TENT

Another entrepreneurial young spirit saw LOTF as a chance to start her own business selling fair trade herbal and fruit teas and homemade cakes from a Tipi. Two sugars please.

PAWLEY FARM

This year we are proud to announce the arrival of a very special cider! Brewed locally by Rick Stein Food Heroes Pawley Farm using a traditional Kentish recipe of course, the specially blended cider has been fermented in aged oak barrels since the festival's inaugural outing in 2006, making for an exclusive mouth-watering tonic!

HOPDAEMON BREWERY

New Zealander Tonie Prins sold his first pint of beer in 2001 and since then has gone from strength to strength. Hopdaemon Beers are brewed in Newnham, near Faversham using the brewerys unique strain of yeast, local hops and traditional malted barley. Hop varieties include East Kent Goldings, Fuggles and Challenger. Locally grown ingredients are used wherever possible and traditional brewing methods are followed. Quality is paramount in order to produce the perfect pint of Kentish Ale. This summer look out for Golden Braid and Green Daemon Natural Pilsner.
